With so many options to choose from, it can truly be a daunting task to select a real estate brokerage to align with and begin your career. Some brokerages are great for new agents, some are great for experienced agents, and some are great for both. How do you differentiate what separates brand “A” from brand “B”? They all truly make themselves out to appear the best. My goal is to help you choose the brokerage that will help your career take off; regardless of if you select to go with Wolves Realty or not.
The most important thing to look for when starting your career is a brokerage that offers incredible agent support. The last thing you want to do is sign on the dotted line and be told good luck with your real estate career. It is imperative that you receive support. Now what does support mean? One thing I have noticed is that several companies offer amazing guidance once you get a deal going. However, very few offer guidance about how to actually find business and make money. The reason this business has an approximate 90% failure rate is for one reason only. That reason is lack of leads. Finding a brokerage that will teach you to get your own leads will give you the best chance for success in this business.
Another key component of what to look for in a brokerage is their cost to you. How much comes out of your pocket per month, per transaction, and for other miscellaneous fees. Do they have a CAP (maximum that comes out of your commission per year)? Real estate is a tough business to get started in. Having several fees to worry about only makes it harder to get a foothold in the industry.
What type of technology are they offering? Technology is not the most important thing. However, the use of proper technology can increase your work efficiency, as well as your brand awareness. These are two key components to growing a healthy business. So what softwares do they provide for you, and at what cost?
Often an overlooked aspect of choosing a brokerage is culture. What is the feeling you get when interacting with the other agents. Is it a cliche cut throat sales environment, or are other agents willing to share their knowledge and help out new agents. Having a culture with a “business is unlimited” mindset is the way to make your career explode.
